Acne
While technically
there is not a cure for acne, preventative
methods that worked for me in my teenage years
were the following:
- Reduce intake of fast
food, especially greasy fast food (isn’t it
all?)
- Gently wash my face a
few times a day (my face always seemed
greasy)
- While research says
otherwise, I always seemed to have an
outbreak after eating chocolate, so I
avoided it. Even now in my 40’s, if I eat a
few chocolate bars, I seem to get a pimple
or two.
While this may not work for
you, there are several products on the market to
help reduce/treat and/or eliminate the frequent
outbreaks of acne. Most grocery stores and
box-mart stores (Wal-Mart, Target, Kmart, etc)
have sections that are filled with acne
products. Great resources in these stores are
the pharmacists. Many, but not all, are more
than willing to help you and tell you “in their
opinion” which are the best remedies to obtain
some relief. There are also several natural
cures for acne on the market. Of course, some
of these are outright scams, but others have
significant backing and seem to work. When
looking for products such as these, be sure to
look for money back guarantees. Also, do they
collect their fees through reputable online
commerce sites such as clickbank and paydotcom.
Sites such as these require their merchants to
offer “no questions asked money back
guarantees”. As a purchaser of products in this
method, I can tell you that I have asked for
refunds for products that merely did not suit my
needs and usually received my refunds in a few
days without any hassle. The risk of getting
scammed is therefore reduced. The product may
not work, but you can get your money back. Just
remember, not all remedies work for all people.
Our chemical makeup is just slightly different
enough that different remedies may work very
well for some people and not for others. Some
people may have to try several different
remedies and/or medications before one works.
Naturally, you should consult with your
dermatologist before starting any treatment
program.
